Sarawak Energy boss wins international award

WELL wouldn’t you know it.

An international award with a very impressive name — Most Influential Clean Energy Advocate Award — has been given to Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) CEO Torstein Dale Sjotveit.

The award was given in connection with the 15th Power & Electricity World Asia Conference held in Singapore.

Known as the third annual Asian Utility Industry Awards, the other categories were Asian CEO of the Year, Power Woman of the Year, Lifetime Achievement Award, Investor of the Year, and Sustainability Award.

As far as Sjotveit’s award is concerned, it means international experts feel that he is a leader in championing clean energy globally.

What’s the clean energy? The electricity we are producing in Sarawak and will produce more of in future under the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE).

Interesting huh? Particularly when certain quarters have tried their best to do nothing but slander him.

“To receive this award is a big achievement that reflects upon the hard work our employees have put in,” Sjotveit said in a statement.

He also said he was very honoured to be nominated alongside other prominent and reputable corporate figures from Malaysia and other international companies

The third annual Asian Utility Industry Awards are designed to celebrate and honour the contributions from individuals and organisations towards the growth of the utilities sector in Asia Pacific.

The nominees are selected through rigorous market research and are polled by the industry.

It is a vote of confidence that Sjotveit’s work with SEB and SCORE is on the right track.

Great stuff. Real transformation for a secure future for all Sarawakians and not just passing change.
