HONESTLY I didn’t want to give more publicity to the so-called People’s Progressive Party from Malaya, but it really is annoying me that some Sarawakians have been duped into joining the party.
Why any TRUE Sarawakian would join a MALAYA party is beyond me.
To add insult to injury, this MALAYA party is a so-called member of the Barisan Nasional! Having respected the rights of Sarawakians to govern themselves since 1963, no MALAYA BN party has ever set up shop in this great State of ours.
Even UMNO has made it clear that it is not opening branches here, even though it would seem a handful of locals have tried to promote it from time to time.
It is a matter of respect. Respect that Sarawakians are more than capable of handling our own affairs, our own way.
So what is this MALAYA PPP? Well it’s definitely as some Sarawakian politicians have called it, a JOKER party.
Let’s recall the 2008 General Elections. How many seats did this JOKER party win? ZERO …
In fact during the 2004 General Elections, the party only had ONE seat – the parliamentary seat of Taiping, which its president M Kayveas could not hold on to just four years later …
So if PPP can’t even retain its ONE seat in Malaya, why is it trying to fish for seats in Sarawak? DESPERATION!!!!
And yet some Sarawakians are allowing themselves to ‘led’ by those clearly rejected by the people of Malaya themselves.
It is actually ironic that the party is called ‘progressive’. It doesn’t seem to have made any progress, in fact it has simply gone further and further downhill over the years.
What irks me even more is that Sarawakians should realise from the experience of our Sabahan brothers and sisters that once any Malaya party gets a foothold here, truly Sarawakian leadership will be sidelined. There’s respect now, but who knows how long that will last if a joker leads some astray? Need I say more?
Jokers are only good for a laugh. Please don’t sacrifice the future of Sarawakians to them.
